Micro Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is the non-surgical elimination of varicose veins by injection. This treatment is used to treat many types of varicose veins and surface veins such as spider or thread veins.

Micro Sclerotherapy is a highly effective treatment for the removal of thread and spider veins on legs. Thread or spider veins are fine red or purple blood vessels that lay in the surface layers of your skin. It is only when they dilate to 2 or 3 times their original size that they become visible to the eye. The cause of the dilation is not known but it is more common in women and can often become worse during pregnancy, after rapid weight gain or if you are prone to sitting or standing for long periods.

In this simple procedure, veins are injected causing them to fade from view. The procedure may also remedy symptoms associated with spider veins, including aching, burning, swelling and night cramps. Sclerotherapy requires no anesthesia, so it can be performed in our surgery. A single session will typically remove the majority of veins with a follow up session completing the process at a convenient time for you.

After treatment, you should avoid strenuous activity for 14 days. You should also avoid waxing and prolonged sun exposure for four weeks. Micro Sclerotherapy treatment generally takes about 30 minutes per session but entirely depends on the number of veins to be treated.
