With many formulations to choose from, the staff at Pure Aesthetics are able to customise your treatment to your specific concerns. To help you understand which injectable treatment might be the right choice for you, we have also broken down our treatment options into two basic categories.

Muscle-Relaxant Injections

Some types of facial wrinkles are caused by making the same expressions over and over. Known as “dynamic” wrinkles, these lines usually make an appearance on the forehead, between the eyebrows and in the outer corners of the eyes. While they only appear when you make those expressions at first, the lines can slowly become etched into the skin so their presence is known all the time.

Muscle-relaxant injections are the more effective way to address dynamic wrinkles. These solutions are injected directly into the facial muscles that create the lines. When the muscles relax, the facial creases are also smoothed away. Results of muscle-relaxant injections typically last 3-4 months before maintenance injections are required to preserve your results.

Soft Tissue Fillers

Other wrinkles are the result of lost collagen. Collagen is a substance produced by the body that supports the underlying skin structure and gives skin a smooth, supple appearance. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, leading to loose, sagging skin and the appearance of some types of wrinkles. Soft tissue fillers restore support to the underlying skin structure while stimulating collagen production, effectively turning back the clock on your skin’s appearance.

Soft tissue fillers are often used for the following types of wrinkles:

  • Nasolabial folds (creases that run from the nose to the corner of the mouth)
  • Smile lines (small, vertical folds in the corners of the mouth)
  • Marionette lines (extend from the mouth to the chin)

These cosmetic injections can also be used to restore youthful volume and definition to areas like the chin and jawline, cheeks and lips.

Cosmetic injections can be used as a single formula or in combination with one another to enhance results. Discomfort during the procedure is minimal and there is no downtime after the procedure. Some patients do experience mild swelling at the injection sites, which typically subsides within a few hours after the procedure.
