With age comes the onset of wrinkles, fine lines, and the sagging of skin, especially on the face. Many people have little or no concerns with the signs of ageing, and concerns about undergoing facial rejuvenation surgery are valid, particularly elective surgery that alters your appearance. So whilst the majority of individuals may decide against a facelift, eyelid lift or brow lift, new techniques like those used by Sydney Plastic Surgeon Dr Merten allow for a natural look that leaves the face rejuvenated and fresher in appearance.

Modern facelift surgery goes beneath the surface of the skin and lifts the deeper muscular layers,

canstockphotorather than tightening the skin, with results that are more natural and last longer than the ‘skin lifts’ done in the past. In the facelift surgery technique used by Dr Merten, the underlying muscle and fat pads are lifted, rather than the skin located on the exterior of the face. Facelift surgery procedure takes around three hours, depending on your personal requirements, and is commonly combined with other facial rejuvenation surgery, such as forehead or brow lift or eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) for a more rejuvenated and fresher appearance.

Facial rejuvenation surgerydoes, however, require several weeks for recovery, and there are risks associated with these operations. This will be explained in detail to you at your consultation with our plastic surgeon, Dr Steve Merten.
